Walt's Trucking and Excavating

Walt's Trucking and Excavation excavated my long driveway and two-car parking/turn around area, then tar and chipped it once it was settled. This was a several-year project and they had to re-sculpt the area at the end of the driveway to provide a flat area for the vehicles to sit on before entering the roadway. The driveway had an incline making winters difficult at times. Now I LOVE my driveway and no longer experience spin-outs in the winter. After the stonecrete mixture was settled and packed, the tar and chips were laid down and packed. I've had them return the next 2 years to apply more of the tar to seal the stones better because if you turn your vehicle wheel while still, it sometimes tears up the tar layer. Brian and his crew were extremely polite and work very hard to please the customer. One crew member was in a hurry and did a poor job laying the topcoat down and Brian returned the next year to reapply the topcoat, accompanied with profuse apologies. I still had them return the following year as there were areas that tar and chip tore up when someone turned the wheels while the vehicle wasn't moving. This is a much less expensive alternative to having blacktop installed, but plan on a project that lasts several years. Fortunately, this crew is a pleasant bunch of people and if time isn't a problem, they are great to work with.
