- Interior Demolition: $500-$12,000
- Mobile Home Demolition: $2,600-$6,550

Does the city of Sacramento require a permit for demolition?
Yes. In Sacramento, a demolition permit is required for all residential and commercial demolition work. You can submit your plan and application to:
The Public Counter
300 Richards Blvd, 3rd Floor
Sacramento, CA 95811
You can also submit your plan electronically. Permits vary depending on the particular project. Take a look at the city of Sacramento's common project fees to view specific costs. Every permit issued in the city of Sacramento is good for exactly 180 days from the day it is obtained. All demolition work must be completed within this time period. If it is not, the permittee must request a progress inspection to keep the permit active.
Do I obtain the demolition permit or does the contractor I hire do it?
It depends. In some cases, the demolition contractor might insist on pulling the necessary permits for a job, but this is not always the case. Having your demolition contractor obtain the permits for you can prove to be a much more stress-free experience, so make sure you confirm with the contractor(s) you speak with whether or not they will handle the permitting process.
